Pharoahe Monch - Gun Draws
"Gun Draws" is an extension of the anti-gun violence concept introduced by Pharoahe Monch on Organized Konfusion's "Stray Bullet."
Review:
Pharoahe Monch speaks from the perspective of a bullet as he takes shots at gun violence. It's not an uncharted territory--Nas did it best on "I Gave You Power"--but it works because of Pharoahe's fierce rhymes and even fiercer visual illustration. The video, which shows a child pointing a gun at his old man, is so graphically explicit that it had to be released exclusively to the web.
Monch also has a website for the video which displays the song lyrics and names of famous people who've encountered the bullet, from The Game to Malcom X.
